Getting Started

What exactly is Indulge Gift Cards? +
Indulge is a service that lets wellness businesses โ€” med spas, massage studios, yoga studios, float spas, nail salons, tanning studios, tattoo shops, and more โ€” add a digital gift card button to their existing website. Clients can buy gift cards directly on your site, and you receive the funds in your Stripe account. No new platform, no monthly fee, no developer needed.
How long does setup actually take? +
Most businesses are live in under 5 minutes. Step 1 (creating your widget) takes about 90 seconds. Step 2 (connecting Stripe) takes 3โ€“5 minutes if you're setting up a new account. Step 3 (adding one line of code to your site) takes about 60 seconds. You can do Steps 1 and 3 right now and come back to Stripe later.
Do I need any technical skills? +
None at all. If you can copy and paste text, you can set this up. You don't need to know HTML, coding, or anything technical. If you do run into trouble, email us and we'll walk you through it โ€” or just do it for you, free of charge.
What kinds of businesses does this work for? +
Any wellness or personal care business with a website. This includes: med spas and aesthetics clinics, day spas, massage therapy studios, float spas, yoga and pilates studios, nail salons, tanning and spray tan studios, tattoo studios, skincare and facial studios, brow and lash studios, infrared sauna studios, salt caves, cryotherapy centers, and more. If people pay for an experience at your business, gift cards work.
What if I want to see it before I commit? +

Payments & Fees

What does it cost me? +
Nothing. There is no setup fee, no monthly subscription, and no percentage taken from your sales. A small convenience fee (~9%) is added to the buyer's total at checkout โ€” paid by them, not you. You receive 100% of the gift card face value directly into your Stripe account.
Why is there a buyer fee instead of charging me? +
It lets us keep the platform completely free for businesses. Buyers purchasing gift cards online expect a small convenience fee โ€” it's standard practice (similar to Ticketmaster or Eventbrite fees). It doesn't meaningfully affect whether someone buys. And it means you never have a monthly cost to justify before you sell your first card.
Do you take a cut of my gift card sales? +
Never. If a client buys a $100 gift card, you receive $100 in your Stripe account โ€” full stop. The ~9% buyer fee covers Stripe's payment processing cost plus platform maintenance. It comes from the buyer's payment, not yours.
When do I get paid? +
As soon as a gift card is purchased, the funds are in your Stripe account. Stripe typically deposits to your bank account within 2 business days on a rolling basis. You're cash-flow positive from the very first sale โ€” you receive the money before the gift card is even redeemed.
What if I sell zero gift cards some months? +
You owe exactly $0. No monthly minimums, no dormancy fees. A slow month costs nothing. The widget just sits on your site, ready for whenever someone is looking to buy a gift.

Installation

What website platforms does this work with? +
Any website that supports adding HTML code. This includes Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder, Weebly, Webflow, Shopify, and any custom HTML site. If you can add an HTML or Code block to a page, you're good. Not sure about your platform? Email us and we'll check for you.
Where should I put the gift card button on my site? +
The most effective placements are: your homepage (high visibility), a dedicated "Gift Cards" page (great for direct links), your booking or services page (captures intent at the right moment), or your header/footer as a persistent link. Many businesses add it to all of these.
I'm not a tech person โ€” can you install it for me? +
Yes, completely free. Email us at brent@indulgifygiftcards.com with your website URL and login credentials, and we'll install and test the widget for you โ€” usually the same day. No charge, ever.
What does "one line of code" actually mean? +
When you create your widget, you receive a short snippet of HTML โ€” one short line that looks something like <script src="..."></script>. You copy that and paste it into an HTML or Code block on your website page. That's it โ€” the button appears automatically.
Will the button match my website's look and feel? +
The button is designed to be clean and neutral so it fits most sites. Advanced styling options are available if you want to customize the color, font, or size to match your brand exactly. Email us and we'll help you dial it in.

Redemption

How does a client redeem their gift card? +
When a gift card is purchased, the recipient receives an email with a unique code. When they come in for their appointment, they give you that code. You look it up in your Indulge dashboard, verify the balance, and mark it redeemed. Simple โ€” no special hardware or POS integration required.
Do gift cards expire? +
By default, gift cards don't expire โ€” they're valid indefinitely. This is a feature, not a bug: clients and gift givers appreciate knowing the card won't go to waste. If you'd like to set an expiration date for your cards, let us know and we can configure that for your account.
Can a client use a gift card for partial payment? +
Yes. If a client's gift card balance is less than the service cost, they can pay the difference with another payment method. If the card value is more than the service, the remaining balance stays on the card for future use. You manage this through the redemption flow in your dashboard.
What if a client loses their gift card email? +
Gift card records are stored in your dashboard by purchase, so you can look up any transaction by the buyer's name or email address. You can resend the gift card details directly to the recipient from your dashboard.
Can I see all outstanding (unredeemed) gift cards? +
Yes. Your dashboard shows every gift card ever sold โ€” the amount, purchase date, who bought it, and whether it's been redeemed. You can filter by status to see only outstanding cards at any time.

Stripe & Payouts

Do I need a Stripe account? +
Yes โ€” Stripe is how you receive your payments. If you don't have one, you'll create a free Stripe account during setup. It takes about 3 minutes and requires your business name, EIN or SSN (for identity verification), and bank account details for deposits.
Is Stripe free to use? +
Creating a Stripe account is completely free. Stripe charges standard card processing fees (2.9% + 30ยข per transaction), but these are already accounted for within the buyer convenience fee. You won't receive a separate Stripe bill for gift card transactions through Indulge.
Can you see my bank account or payout information? +
No. Your bank account, routing number, and payout settings are managed entirely within your own Stripe dashboard. We connect to Stripe to process payments on your behalf, but we never have access to your financial or banking details. You can revoke access anytime from your Stripe dashboard.
How often does Stripe deposit to my bank? +
Stripe's default payout schedule is 2 business days after a transaction. You can adjust this to weekly or monthly in your Stripe dashboard settings if you prefer less frequent deposits.
What if I already have a Stripe account? +
Perfect โ€” just connect your existing Stripe account during setup. The process takes about 60 seconds. Your existing Stripe account, payouts, and settings are unaffected.

Who built this and who do I contact for support? +

Can I cancel or pause anytime? +
Yes, anytime. Remove the widget code from your site whenever you want, and disconnect your Stripe account from within Stripe. There are no cancellation fees, no penalties, and no awkward cancellation flows. Email us and we'll help if you have any trouble.
Is my clients' payment data secure? +
Absolutely. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified โ€” the highest level of payment security certification. No card data ever touches our servers. The gift card button on your site is simply a portal to Stripe's secure checkout.
Can I sell gift cards for specific services, not just dollar amounts? +
Currently gift cards are sold as open-value dollar amounts (e.g., $50, $100, $150 toward any service). Service-specific gift cards (e.g., "one 60-minute massage") are on the roadmap. Email us if this is important to your business โ€” demand shapes the feature timeline.
Do you offer gift cards for multiple locations? +
Yes โ€” if you have multiple locations under the same business, we can configure a single gift card that works across all of them, or separate gift cards per location. Email us to discuss your setup and we'll find the right configuration.
